Dragonflyer Express Coach Project - How It works
Prospective users of this service must first register their details, travel needs and current travel habits with Target 80. Registration is free and the more people who register, the more we can understand about people’s travel habits and the better we can tailor our services to best meet those needs. Target 80’s registration information is the key to making our community and environment transport schemes work - the more detail we have, the better we can serve local communities..
Once registered, a “registeree” can decide whether to become a Dragonflyer member. There are three levels of Dragonflyer membership which relate to the average frequency with which a member travels to Bristol on the BI Flyer from Bristol airport (BIA).
“Frequent Flyer” – as many trips to Bristol as you like at any time of the day
“Regular Flyer” – 2 to 3 trips to Bristol per week at any time of the day
“Occasional Flyer” – 1 trip to Bristol per week at any time of the day
Each member will be issued with an appropriate photo ID pass (which, obviously, makes membership non-transferable) which they will show to the BI Flyer driver who will let them travel for free on the coach.
Dragonflyer Mobility is not currently offering any service “wings” to get people from their homes to BIA. We are dependent on having a large number of registrations and, subsequently, members, to make it economically viable to run lift shares, shared taxis and eventually minibuses. If our “registerees” have a lift to the airport we would welcome them sharing this with us so we can suggest as many members as possible share that lift and cover the lift providers expenses. This benefits everyone, not least the environment which is the central aim of Dragonflyer Mobility Ltd. The Target 80 team will take care of pro-actively contacting registerees, co-coordinating members’ lifts and booking shared taxis where appropriate.
If you live close enough to the airport to walk or cycle, there are cycle racks available at BIA and you can register and become members immediately to start saving on the cost of running a car.
